Fortnite has been around for the last few years and Epic Games has done some impressive work collaborating with other popular franchises. However, the memory of the players is sharp, and they are not thrilled with how lazy the developers have become with the latest event.

The newest season is said to bring back pirates, and the popular Disney franchise fits the bill perfectly. The game developers are taking the players back to the world of the fearless Captain Jack Sparrow and his swashbuckling life of action and debauchery.

Epic Games is firing on all cylinders in preparation for massive crossovers. The most recent leak of a new Wolverine outfit in Fortnite was sufficient to excite the gaming community for the upcoming Marvel film. The developers will eventually run out of ideas regardless of their previous accomplishments and some players are not satisfied with the latest crossover event.

Reusing old concepts and ideas has been a common strategy used by game developers and it was only a matter of time before the game developers would run out of ideas and resort to recycling. Epic Games recently released a new game mode called Reload and it featured beloved classic locations and fan-favorite weapons.

The newest event is seen recycling assets from Chapter 1 Season 8 and some fans think it is unoriginal and lazy. However, there is no shame in reusing something that worked and was well-received, which defeats the idea of having to come up with something new that may not resonate well with the players. There is no shame in playing safe and sticking to the formula.

Fans of Pirates of the Caribbean Are in for a Treat

Crossovers and collaborations are essential to keeping live service games afloat and the developers are not holding back with this event. Not everyone is on board with the small amount of effort Epic Games applied to this crossover, but the minimalistic nature contrasts the lavish lifestyle of pirates.

The developers needed to make some creative decisions and the players should not give them a tough time if what they delivered is not up to standard, especially for an event on a much smaller scale. Perhaps some fans had high expectations and wanted to see something different for a change but they shouldn’t undermine the efforts made by the developers.

It was inevitable for the developers to experience content drought and it is normal for creatives to run out of ideas to use in games. The design is reminiscent of what came before and if it works, then there is no need to replace it, and some of the older weapons, like cannons, are making an exciting comeback.

The gaming community is split down the middle, with one half appreciating what is being offered and the other being too critical. Players should stop thinking about it for a moment and savor every moment to make the crossover more memorable.
