From Mark Ruffalo to Ramy Youssef, celebrities have strongly showcased their support and some of them have even signed an open letter to President Joe Biden to ceasefire in Gaza. Wanting to aware people of the ongoing events in the world, several celebrities decided to wear a red lapel pin which has now become a symbol for the Israel-Gaza ceasefire.

Amidst the plethora of celebrities that were present, Billie Eilish, Finneas O’Connell, Ava DuVernay, Mahershala Ali, Ramy Youssef, and, Mark Ruffalo were some of the celebrities that boasted the red lapel pin. Ruffalo, being an activist himself, also signed an open letter to Joe Biden alongside Ramy Youssef and hundreds of other celebrities and requested to ceasefire immediately in Gaza.

“We’re calling for an immediate, permanent ceasefire in Gaza. We’re calling for peace and justice – lasting justice – for the people of Palestine. And I think it’s a universal message of just: Let’s stop killing kids. Let’s not be part of more war,”

Although the Oscars’ ceremony has been completed successfully (with an “I’m Just Ken” performance by Ryan Gosling), the Israel-Palestine conflict is still ongoing. There are several petitions and open letters to people in places of power to stop the conflict and/or ceasefire and the celebrities are not holding back now in showcasing their support.
