'Gabriel Luna was just unbelievably hot as Tommy': 'The Last of Us' Star Gabriel Luna Reacts To Fans Branding Him Hotter Than Pedro Pascal's Battle-Worn Joel

HBO’s The Last of Us is setting viewership records and making fans cry online every week with its emotional story arcs. The latest episode of the show saw Pedro Pascal’s Joel Miller get reunited with his brother, Tommy Miller, played by Gabriel Luna. Their meeting and discussion over taking care of Ellie, played by Bella Ramsey, set the internet buzzing with posts and memes. One meme maker chose to exclusively focus on Gabriel Luna’s face in the show and noted how his Tommy is a notch above Pascal’s Joel in the looks department. To make things even better, the star has hilariously commented on the meme as well.

In episode 6 of The Last of Us, Pedro Pascal’s Joel requested Gabriel Luna’s Tommy to take Ellie to the fireflies because he was old, graying and suffering from anxiety/ panic attacks. Joel says that Tommy is healthier and younger than him, so he can take the immune girl safely and deliver her to the group so that they can make a vaccine and save humanity. Looking at the scene, it’s clear that Luna’s Tommy is definitely leading a better life in the enclosed little village with his wife Maria.

Fans were quick to pick up on this contrast and one of them made a post stating the stark differences between the two Miller brothers. The tweet said:

“Gabriel Luna was just unreasonably hot as Tommy this episode. Unreasonably. Joel fighting for his f*ckin life like graying, crying, hallucinating, dying of blood loss, hasn’t slept in 2004, literally having a heart attack. Tommy? Not a scratch on him. Sleeps 9 hours a day, rosemary oil in his shiny black curls, dewy-eyed and smelling delicately of sandalwood. 20 years into the apocalypse and he looks like a princess.”

Luna noticed this tweet and reacted hilariously to it. He retweeted it and added one laughing and one shrugging emoji. It’s clear that the actor found the meme and comparison with Pascal’s Joel funny.

Fans loved seeing Joel reunite with his brother. However, by the end of the episode the two bid goodbye to each other as the elder Miller brother decided to continue the journey with Ellie. But Tommy in the end says that there will always be a space for his brother and Ellie in the gated village. So will we see the younger Miller brother again? Probably not in this season if the HBO show sticks to the plotline of the game.

But the show might extend the ending and we could see the Miller brothers and Ellie reunite in the last episode. However, if that doesn’t happen, fans will probably get to see Luna’s Tommy in the second season of The Last of Us. As for whether that will be a happy reunion or not, is something only time will tell.

The Last of Us is currently streaming on HBO and HBO Max. Episode 7 will air on 27th February 2023.
