Game of Thrones is one of the most critically acclaimed tv shows of all time. With a total of eight seasons and 73 episodes, GOT shines with a huge fanbase and following and a record viewership. It is the most-watched show on HBO Max and the extreme political warfare and wars that go on in the entire show have captured the hearts of many. GOT is an adaptation of A Song of Ice and Fire, a book series written by George R. R. Martin.

While the show ended quite a while ago, in mid-2019 with a rushed ending, a prequel, House of the Dragon soon followed and is also a part of the fantasy novel written by Martin. The show mainly focused on the House Targaryen and the events surrounding them. And now, after massive popular demand, news has come out that HBO is considering a prequel to GOT, with Aegon I Targaryen, and fans are demanding Henry Cavill to take on the role.

A New Game of Thrones Project At Works?

In a recent article published by Variety, owing to a credible source, it was revealed that a potential Game of Thrones prequel is being discussed at HBO. While a show related to George R. R. Martin’s A Song of Ice and Fire is always welcome, this time around instead of another sequel, a prequel is actively discussed.

Though not much information has been shared about the related topic and the preparation is in its earliest stages, fans are quite excited about it and are waiting for the show to be announced. While a second season for House of Dragons has already been announced, and considering the immense success of the first season, the second one will be a banger too. Even if it won’t be released till 2024.

The potential new show will have the story revolving around Aegon I Targaryen and his journey to the west, capturing and conquering anything and everything that lies in his path with his mighty dragons. The show will potentially show the journey of the Targaryen as he made his way to Westeros, conquering six out of the seven kingdoms, making him the first king of Westeros. Though HBO has refused to make any comments regarding this matter, it is only a matter of time before news related to it is released.

Fans Are Demanding Henry Cavill To Play Aegon I Targaryen

Henry Cavill has been recommended to the Game of Throne franchise for a long time by the fans, and they are not wrong, Cavill always shines in every role he plays, but after recent rumors, his fans have taken a turn as they want Cavill to lead the role of Aegon I Targaryen. The Man of Steel actor’s name was also put forward multiple times for the role of Lord Cregan Stark, who will appear in House of the Dragon season 2 by his fans and followers. Whether Cavill ends up joining the GoT universe or not, only time will tell what HBO has in store for the fans.

While it might seem unnatural, it is quite a fact that the whole 73 episodes of Game of Thrones had a staggering budget of $1.5 billion and the funny fact is that the show has earned $3.1 billion via its HBO subscriptions only, so it is quite difficult to put a price tag on the world’s best tv show. Just like the saying goes, “When you play the Game of Thrones, you win, or you die”, it seems the case for HBO as well, as they never played on the losing side and came out big from the show’s success.

Game of Thrones is available for streaming on HBO Max.
