Harada, the beloved Tekken creator, made a trip from Japan all the way to Germany specifically for Gamescom 2023 Opening Night Live. He mentioned that till now, all fans have seen from Tekken 8 is the game’s battle mechanics and gameplay, but now, it was finally time to showcase a new game mode. According to Harada, “of course Tekken 8 will have a Story mode and the Mishima storyline arc that players expect till now,” but the game’s brand new mode will “focus on” the players themselves.

The new Tekken 8 game mode introduced at Gamescom 2023 will bring back the arcade scene, which is a gaming atmosphere that a lot of old-school players miss about fighting games and Tekken in general, something that the previous generation got to experience first-hand but it has since gotten lost. Harada then unleashed the World Premiere Trailer for Tekken 8 on the audience, and it looks absolutely phenomenal.
