The Opening Night Live show for Gamescom 2024 is over and there were some big and small announcements. Most of the show went as expected with some surprise showings from some new titles.
The show was a continuous rundown of new trailers, teasers, and reveals for new games and updates for existing ones. And if you missed anything, we’ve got you covered with this overview of every announcement in the Opening Night Live show for Gamescom 2024.
Borderlands 4
Borderlands 4 is real and it is coming. The game got a massive reveal at Gamescom 2024 and a trailer showing got a grand reveal with a dramatic teaser trailer. It’s coming out in 2025 so expect more in the coming months.
Dying Light: The Beast
After a recent teaser for it, we got a first look at Dying Light: The Beast at the Gamescom 2024 ONL show. The trailer featured gameplay, with parkour and zombie combat. There was no release date though.
Dune: Awakening
Dune: Awakening got a new Gamescom 2024 trailer and an early 2025 release date. The trailer featured an in-depth preview of the game’s mechanics and gameplay.
Monster Hunter Wilds
Monster Hunter Wilds got another trailer with details about the game’s story and monsters. The trailer did not include a solid release date past the already-known 2025 one.
Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves
Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves got a new trailer and will launch on April 25, 2025 for PlayStation, Xbox, and PC. Pre-orders for the game are now live as well with the $60 special edition including the Season 1 pass.
Sid Meier’s Civilization 7
Civilization 7 will be one of the first game launches of 2025 with its February 11 launch date. Fans got a look at its new art style and much more will be revealed at the expensive showcase on their channel.
Starfield: Shattered Space
Starfield: Shattered Space is coming September 30. We got a Gamescom 2024 trailer featuring a first look at the game’s first ground vehicle, the Rev-8. The Rev-8 will be available tonight after an update.
Masters of Albion
Peter Molyneux came out to reveal his latest game titled Masters of Albion. The game is a top-down town management game with a town building style of play. Players can also jump into a character and explore the world in third-person. Masters of Albion will release on PC and consoles.
Indiana Jones and the Great Circle
Indiana Jones and the Great Circle will launch on December 9. It’ll also come to PS5 in spring 2025. The Gamescom 2024 trailer was narrated by Troy Baker and featured a lot of gameplay.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 6
Black Ops 6 got another trailer ahead of its release date of 25 October 2024. It featured a lengthy showcase of a mission called Most Wanted.
Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2
Space Marine 2 got a new trailer ahead of its September release. The hype for this game has just been growing and is at an all time high.
Path of Exile 2
Path of Exile 2 has been a constant point of community chatter since its alpha release. The Gamescom 2024 trailer gave us some gameplay and a date. The game will hit early access on November 15.
Marvel Rivals
NertEase’s foray into the hero shooter genre has been in beta for a few weeks now and players love it. According to the Gamescom 2024 trailer, The game will get its full release on December 6 and will come with two new characters. Black Panther and the Winter Soldier.
Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2
Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 has also been a long-awaited and community favorite title. And the latest Gamescom 2024 trailer has given us a February 11 release date alongside more looks at the game’s gameplay and story.
Little Nightmares 3
Little Nightmares 3 got two new little snippet trailers at the show. There was no inclusion of a release date though. But we’ve already been informed of the delay from 2024 to 2025 so it wasn’t really an expectation.
Batman: Arkham Shadow
The VR exclusive entry into the Arkham series got a new gameplay trailer and a release window for October 2024. Fans still don’t really care about this one.
Overwatch 2
A Blizzard representative announced an Overwatch 2 and World of Warcraft crossover with a Widowmaker skin reportedly in the works.
Diablo 4‘s Vessel of Hatred DLC
The DLC for Diablo 4 got a new trailer with an extensive showcase of what fans can expect from it. Will it deliver after the game’s fall from grace?
The First Berserker: Khazan
This game recently caught the gaming community by surprise. And people are still skeptical given that it’s being made by Nexon, but the trailer looked sick.
Floatopia
NetEase isn’t stopping at hero shooters with the reveal for Floatopia. The game is an Animal Crossing-esque cozy life sim that honestly looks like a lot of fun.
Mafia: The Old Country
The Mafia franchise ended the show with a very early reveal for the next installment of the series which takes us even further into the past.

- Dave the Diver announced a collab with Balatro, Potion Craft, and singer Mxmtooon.
- Sniper Elite Resistance was revealed for a release in 2005.
- A new trailer for Begone Beast was revealed and it teased an Early Access launch for February 2025.
- Roadcraft, a road-building game got a trailer and a launch date for 2025.
- There was an early look at Nikoderiko: The Magical World, an arcade platformer.
- Enotria: The Last Song comes out September 19.
- The previously revealed climbing game Cairn got a new gameplay trailer.
- The demo for We Harvest Shadows. a horror game set on a farm, is now on Steam.
- An absolutely terrifying trailer was revealed for A.I.L.A., a new horror game with biblical undertones coming in 2025.
- The sequel to Journey to the Savage Planet, titled Revenge of the Savage Planet was announced.
- Inzoi, Krafton’s attempt at a hyperrealistic Sim game also got another look.
- Tribe Nine is a Mobile action RPG and it got a brand new trailer.
- The next Dark Pictures game titled Directive 8020 was revealed. And it is set in space.
- Terry Bogard addition to Street Fighter 6 was revealed with a banging gameplay trailer.

- Goat Simulator Remastered was announced for late 2024.
- Persona 3 Reload‘s The Answer DLC will feature Joker from Persona 5
- Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero got a brand new trailer and a reveal for the game’s preorder bonuses.
- Amazon has a new co-op game called King of Meat with a fantasy game show setting.
- Fuzzy Bot is debuting Lykned: Banner of the Spark. The game is a cozy action game.
- Lost Records: Bloom and Rage was revealed to get a two-part launch on February 18 and March 18, 2025.
- No More Room in Hell 2 also got a new trailer.
- Arc Raiders was featured with a new cinematic trailer.
- Infinity Nikki got a whole musical as a trailer.
- A new free multiplayer MOBA. Predecessor also got a new trailer. Do we need another one of these?

- The developers of Little Nightmares have another creepy game titled Reanimal.
- Lara Croft continues her adventure into other games with a Tomb Raider x Naraka: Bladepoint collab.
- Mecha Break is a mech multiplayer game that also got a new trailer.
- The iconic Monument Valley games are getting a third entry that releases exclusively via Netflix on December 10.
- A new Amazon Prime based on multiple video games titled Secret Level comes ot on December 10. This one looks promising
- Age of Mythology: Retold also got a new trailer. The game comes out on September 4.
- Towerborne got an early access date for September 10.
- Delta Force: Hawk Ops is coming to Steam Next Fest. The game also got a new trailer
- Hoyoverse’s Genshin Impact is finally reaching Xbox on November 20.
- Hoyoverse’s newest game, Zenless Zone Zero also got a teaser for a new area.
- Honkai: Star Rail also got a new animation teaser for its upcoming Fate/Stay Night crossover in 2025.
- The creators of Far: Changing Tides revealed a new title called Herdling.
- Netflix revealed another game, this time based on the super hit show Squid Game titled Squid Game: Unleashed.
- Unknown9: Awakening got a trailer and a release date for October 18.
- Shooter Arena Breakout: Infinite is also coming out later this year.
- Xbox’s Ara: History Untold also got a new trailer. The game comes out on September
- Dark and Darker’s mobile version also got a trailer.
