Some fans have pointed to a major plotline that has been left unresolved in the aftermath of events from the previous game, which they would want resolved in a sequel.

With Kait’s personal story at an excellent crossroads after events in Gears 5, a sequel to the game could explore many interesting avenues for the character. But it could also take the opportunity to bring a lot of new enemies for her and her team to fight, considering how E-Day examines the origins of the Locust Horde and its evolutionary counterparts, the Swarm.

While some players demand a fresh new perspective on the franchise’s main conflict, one fan of Gears of War took the time to dive into the fate of every enemy type encountered in the Hollow, a Locust stronghold from the second game in the franchise.

Finding many loose ends has led them to believe that any upcoming titles in the franchise can examine what happened to them in the aftermath of Operation Lightmass, and potentially give Kait a whole new set of enemies to take on.

Many players have pointed out details that The Coalition may be aware of and consider when creating the narrative for Gears of War 6. Like the Lambent, several other creatures could be making an appearance with evolved designs and new attacks.

One response pointed to the appearance of more Riftworms, backed up by story details from other installments in the franchise.

Another player argued that experiments done by characters like Ukkon could very well have resulted in a few mutations on creatures from the Hollow, leading them to join the Swarm that is now presumably controlled by Reyna Diaz, who shares a lot of history with Kait.

While new enemies in a Gears of War game are always a welcome sight, giving players more insight into how and why the Swarm has risen to be such a threat to Sera and its inhabitants is sure to make Gears of War 6 a worthy sequel to its predecessor – and a great addition to Kait’s narrative.
