Gege Akutami’s Favourite From Bleach Comes with a Surprise
In a special talk between two manga giants via Edomonogatari, Gege Akutami revealed surprising insights into their love for Bleach. When they were asked about their favorite Bleach character, there was a dilemma between Mayuri Kurotsuchi and Kenpachi Zaraki. Eventually, they settled with Kurotsuchi, because of his early Bankai revelation.
Akutami also admitted, “I loved how utterly disgusted I felt when I saw him for the first time.” It showcased their appreciation of automated responses that were aroused by Kubo’s ability.
They engaged to admire the final form of Kurotsuchi’s Bankai called Matai Fukin Shotai or Demonic Recumbent Womb. Akutami’s enthusiasm was visible in their reaction when his Bankai made the appearance. They said it “made me scream “Yes, yes, that’s my man Kurotsuchi!” in excitement.”

At the same time, Akutami held Kubo’s effort in high regard for making such a character. They stressed Kubo’s exceptional nature of creativity, which emphasized that it was something only he could have produced.
