Gege Akutami’s manga Jujutsu Kaisen has become one of the most popular anime and manga series in such a short span and has amassed a cult fan-following that notices every minute detail in the story about their favorite character. This was seen during potentially one of the biggest anime fights of 2023, between Gojo Satoru and King of the Curses Sukuna.
As the fight ended with the fan’s favorite character Gojo Satoru losing and ultimately dying, fans were not too happy about it. This led the fans to study the fight deeply to develop theories and notions that could either prove the fight was not real, or Gojo could make a return somehow.
This study may not given out the details about Gojo’s return, but it surely pointed out an error that was made by the mangaka themselves which may have led Gojo to lose the fight, as because of this error, Gojo was not able to use some of his powers thus ultimately resulting in his death. Some fans even believe that the error was intentional as Akutami has always hated Gojo and wanted to end his story in the series.
Gege Akutami Took Away Gojo’s Powers
Fans have made claims against the mangaka, that he may have intentionally taken away Gojo’s powers to make him lose against Sukuna. During the amazing Gojo Satoru vs. Ryomen Sukuna match, there was a brief sequence that puzzled fans.
As demonstrated by the numerous instances in which Sukuna’s opponents have abruptly crumbled to pieces, his slashes are imperceptible to the naked eye. He employed a variety of techniques against Gojo, including this one. Now, one would think that Gojo could see them and avoid them given his abilities, but that wasn’t the case.
This actually always kinda always bothered me tbh. Gojo's eyes can see jujutsu at a molecular level……..
But he can't see slashes made from cursed energy??? https://t.co/dN8gyYrBxx— Geezer (@y0unGeezer) December 18, 2023
Jujutsu Kaisen states that Six Eyes have molecular vision. This suggests that nothing with Cursed Energy can evade it, but Gojo took a few blows from Sukuna’s slashes, giving the impression that he was not able to fully see Sukuna’s attack even with his six eyes. Now it is unknown whether this was a plothole by Akutami or an intentional error, but this surely enraged fans.

Gege Akutami’s Plothole Led to Gojo Losing to Sukuna
Among all the Jujutsu Kaisen series, Six Eyes might be one of the most powerful abilities. It bestows upon the user not only the capacity to perceive cursed energy at the molecular level but also extraordinary intelligence and critical thinking skills, enabling them to evaluate scenarios and perform intricate computations in a fraction of the time.
In addition, it uses Cursed Energy at a negligible fraction, ensuring he never runs out in a battle. Though Akutami doesn’t explain how to use it in the event of other techniques, such as Sukuna’s Cleave slashes, it should have been able to withstand Sukuna’s slashes logically.

However, as it has not been clarified by Akutami, it is believed by fans that instead of a plothole, Akutami intentionally took away Gojo’s power to make him lose against Sukuna as fans know Akutami is not too fond of Gojo and would have wanted to kill him to get the story moving forward and giving the characters like Yuji to grow in the series.
