In a candid interview with The Guardian, George Clooney opened up about what intrigued him to star in this epic sci-fi drama. The actor played the role of Dr. Chris Kelvin in the film, and during his conversation, he revealed that he liked the screenplay so much, which led him to star in the project. Clooney shared,

“This one seemed like it was really going to push it. And I liked the idea that Steven (Soderbergh) was raising a lot of questions that he was trying to work out himself, and I thought it would really be fun to go on that run with him. You can trust a director like Steven with that kind of risk – I wouldn’t have done this with some directors who shall remain nameless.”

George Clooney has proved he can do anything and easily play challenging to complex roles. Throughout his multi-decade reign as an A-list performer, he has received many prestigious accolades and honors and has remained on top of his acting game.
