The spooky season is upon us, and Amazon just added a suitably ghostly title to its Prime Gaming catalog that will get players in the mood for Halloween. Tango Gameworks’ horror game Ghostwire Tokyo will be free for the taking on PC for Amazon Prime subscribers until November 2, 2023.
Ghostwire Tokyo sees players take on paranormal forces in a ghostly, supernatural version of Japan’s capital. Released in March 2022, it mostly flew under the radar in a game-packed year. 18 months after its launch, it has developed something of a cult following and is regarded by many as one of the most underrated games in recent years.
Gamers with an Amazon Prime subscription can now claim it and face the unknown for free.

Featuring a flashy art style and an intricate depiction of Japan’s once-bustling capital, Ghostwire Tokyo impressed players and critics with its creepy atmosphere, otherworldly vibe, and a “fascinatingly odd tone”.
For anyone who hasn’t played Tango’s game yet, now might be the time to check this underrated horror gem out. Players with an active Amazon Prime membership can claim the full game on PC for free throughout the entire month until November 2, 2023 – just in time for Halloween.

Amazon Prime members don’t just get fast, free delivery and an extensive catalog of movies, TV shows, and music to stream; they can also claim free games. Amazon regularly adds new titles and in-game content to its subscription service that members can access free of charge.
Besides Ghostwire Tokyo, a few more free games are part of the Prime Gaming catalog right now, with more coming throughout the month. While many are rather unknown titles, you can also find some big hitters.

For instance, you can currently get Football Manager 2023 (until October 11) and the classic Metal Slug series for free. The dark, narrative adventure game GRUNND also just launched on the service as a suitable Halloween title alongside Ghostwire Tokyo.
More spooky games are set to join the service this month, including:
- The Coma 2: Vicious Sisters – Deluxe Edition (October 12)
- Monster Prom 2: Monster Camp (October 12)
- The Textorcist (October 19)
- Golden Light (October 19)
- Super Adventure Hand (October 26)
Fans of Diablo IV, Apex Legends, Valorant, League of Legends, Fall Guys, Overwatch 2, Pokémon GO, and more will also find plenty of goodies within Amazon’s membership. The e-commerce giant regularly drops in-game content such as cosmetics, bonus items, in-game currency, etc. for these and other multiplayer titles.
Amazon Prime currently costs $15 a month or $140 a year in the US. Ghostwire Tokyo would normally cost you $60 by itself, making this a good deal for anyone who wants to try the ghostly title this Halloween.
Note that the game is also available on Xbox Series X/S via Xbox Game Pass and on Windows PC via PC Game Pass. This means there are now plenty of ways to claim this excellent title for the spooky season without having to pay the full price.
