Captain America: Brave New World will mark the first major outing for Anthony Mackie’s Captain America. Coming a whopping nine years after the third entrant in the Captain America franchise, the movie has fans around the globe excited. After all, it’s been so long since they’ve seen Cap in action. They couldn’t be more excited for his return. But the latest sneak peek from the set of the movie has given fans something they can’t wrap their head around – Giancarlo Esposito’s character.
Giancarlo Esposito all set for his MCU foray
The star of Breaking Bad fame is all set to make his MCU debut with Captain America: Brave New World. Whose role Esposito will be essaying is not confirmed yet, but expectations are already sky-high for the actor. That is to be expected for a star of his pedigree.
Yet, his very reputation might be too big a burden for the people helming the movie. After all, which character should a star like him play to do justice to his caliber? This is a question that would have been at the top of Director Julius Onah’s mind. After all, the last thing they would want is a repeat of what happened with Christian Bale.

The Prestige star was criminally underutilized in his role as Gorr the God Butcher. He might have been the saving grace in Thor: Love and Thunder, but his magic came to an end with just one film. Esposito’s fans would be wary about the same.
Amidst all this hue and cry, a photo from the sets of the Anthony Mackie starrer is doing the rounds on social media. And as it happens, the Do the Right Thing star’s fans couldn’t be more disappointed. It seems like something even beyond their worst dreams has been realized.

Esposito can be seen sporting a black trench coat, a black t-shirt along with cargo pants and a strap around the waist which is enough for carrying three knives. Some dress code, isn’t it?
Well, fans can’t guess which character is he exactly playing. And if their responses are anything to go by, they are not really interested in knowing. They are already disappointed.

The disappointment is real. After all, it is not every day that you see a star like Esposito join a franchise like MCU. Kevin Feige & Co. could have planned ahead and kept him there for a bigger (and better) role. But there is still time before the jury can pass its verdict.
