When they reunite as adults the love affair takes many twists and turns but it is all worth it. The 42-year-old actress once talked about Padme and Anakin’s relationship in an interview. The actress mentioned why the Queen and Senator of Naboo is attracted to Anakin, the Closer actress said,
“All of a sudden he comes back and she’s like wow you know he’s grown up into this handsome young Hayden Christensen. So their relationship really goes from this sort of her looking down on this younger guy to him sort of proving himself as a real force. Padme is attracted to Anakin mainly for his looks. I mean let’s be honest.”
She further added,
“He allows her to be a little less serious about herself and laugh a little and you know fall in love. It’s really a struggle for her to say you know Can I be selfish and fall in love with myself when I have all these aspirations. And all these things I need to accomplish. She sees the sort of darkness to him but obviously that’s always intriguing.
