Stellan Skarsgård Almost Let The Fame Get To Him
At 16 years of age, like many other young boys in Sweden, Stellan Skarsgård also decided to audition for a TV show named Bombi Bitt och jag. He played the titular character of Bombi Bitt and gained immense popularity instantly. As shared by the actor himself with Vanity Fair, if it weren’t for his parents, the fame could have ‘broken’ him.
“There was only one channel in Sweden at the time, can you imagine? One TV channel. That means that everybody sees it. Everybody knows about it.”
He further said,
“I became like a pop star. And I was only 16. And there were girls were fainting and screaming. And it was a kind of experience that would have broken me if I hadn’t had such good parents. Because they made sure to bring me down.”
Skarsgård’s portrayal of Bombi Bitt earned him both name and fame, and becoming an overnight sensation, he was regarded as a rising star in the Swedish industry.
