The MCU just got more legendary with veteran actor and Hollywood superstar Harrison Ford’s presence. The Indiana Jones actor is stepping into the Marvel Universe for the first time for 2024’s Captain America: New World Order starring Anthony Mackie. Ford will play Thaddeus “Thunderbolt” Ross, an ex-US military officer and the head of the gamma bomb project that turned Bruce Banner into the Hulk. The star will replace the late William Hurt who first played this character in 2008’s The Incredible Hulk which was the second film of the MCU.

With the announcement that Harrison Ford will play Thaddeus Ross in Captain America 4, the expectations for the film and the MCU are sky-high. One of the recognizable elements of the character is his physical appearance. Right from the comic books to the big screen so far, Ross is seen sporting a trademark thick mustache that has become synonymous with the character. William Hurt too embodied this look fully. But the initial peek into the sets of Captain America 4 has caused fans to become anxious as Harrison Ford was seen sporting a cleanshaven appearance for the role. Many netizens took to social media to express their displeasure about the look and stated that it did not align with the traditional image of the character.

In recent years, Ford played the titular character in the Jack Ryan films which were based on the novels written by Tom Clancy.
