God of War is one of the strongest first-party franchises for PlayStation Studios and the gaming community is eager to see more content. Santa Monica Studio did a fantastic job revamping the franchise with the Norse Saga and still stayed true to the core of the series.
It is not easy to make changes from on the side of the developers but the studio decided that this drastic change of gameplay and perspective is for the best. The Norse Saga introduced a new coterie of threats and gave the players a run for their money.
The Gaming Community Waited for a Feature to Replay Boss Fights in God of War
Santa Monica Studio made some necessary changes to appeal to the gaming community. Kratos spent a lot of time reflecting on past mistakes and took the time to retreat within himself and learn discipline, however, the retired god will quickly go back to his old ways if anyone were to harm those closest to him and show what the God of War is capable of.
The developers applied a semi-open world structure and throughout the journey, the father and son duo will encounter powerful foes that will put the players to the test. Valkyries were introduced as optional side bosses and would drop decent loot and not everyone is a fan of them, however, some wish to replay a fight for leisure.

These optional bosses will quickly put players in their place if they enter their chambers unprepared and under-leveled. Some opted to wait and replay the campaign through New Game Plus with all their gear and abilities but not all reruns are as easy as the initial experience.
It can be an unpleasant experience for those who lack the skill of facing down these enemies but some players welcome a challenge. These optional fights will encourage players to get creative and experimental with their loadout and discover easier methods to take down the Valkyries.
Santa Monica Studio Should Consider Giving God of War Players the Option to Replay Fights
The leaps in gameplay from the original trilogy to the Norse Saga are drastically different. In his youth, Kratos was a killing machine and had hack-and-slash gameplay while the sequels encouraged the players to approach each combat encounter calmly and take the time to strategize.
David Jaffe wanted the players to feel the weight of playing an unstoppable monster. The Norse Saga has proven that no matter how skilled or powerful a player builds Kratos, all of these efforts can be quickly demolished by one omnipotent enemy.
In the Valhalla DLC, players can randomly encounter older bosses in the never-ending gauntlet of challenges. Perhaps the developers could make a dedicated feature replaying iconic boss fights like Garm in Hel or any Berserker or Valkyrie boss, similar to Stellar Blade’s Boss Rush Mode.
Santa Monica Studio struck gold with the combat and gameplay that players want to go through the pain of fighting powerful bosses again. The developers can gain the favor of the gaming community with this one simple feature.
