Nico Robin is the sixth Straw Hat member in One Piece. Even though she left them in between, she returned and became one of the main characters. Nico Robinβs life was full of miseries, and she found peace within the Straw Hats. Her character requires a lot of depth, and the emotional baggage is strongly visible.
The anime fans were accustomed to the character, and soon, the live-action lovers would also have their chance. Recently, an audition of Natalia Prieto went viral where she was auditioning for the role of Nico Robin. While her performance was outstanding, there was one raging issue among them that made them not want her as the βDevil Child.β

One Piece Live Action season 2 is under production. Tony Tony Chopper and Captain Smoker will be making their live-action debuts in the upcoming season. While it is unclear whether Nico Robin will make an appearance, the showrunners might have already begun their search. Recently, Natalia Prieto uploaded a video of her auditioning for the role of Nico Robin. She chose the scene where she says, βI want to live.β
She did a great job grasping the characterβs core and showcasing her emotional side. Robin always has a smile on her face. But before meeting the Straw Hats, it was all fake since she was trying to hide her pain and sorrows. After declaring her true feelings, the smile became more natural. Prietoβs eyes did most of the acting, and it could make anyone cry. Her dialogue delivery and dedication towards the audition are unmatched.

Even though she did a great job, the fans were not convinced. Their major issue with Prieto was her age. Compared to the other live-action Straw Hats, she looked older. Robin looks younger than her age, but Prieto is missing it. It is already 28, so by the time the series concludes, she might be well over 35 years old. In the anime, the Straw Hats have only sailed for two years, but it is not possible to depict it in live action.
Taking a younger actress for the role would be the better choice since she can mature with the series. One of the fans even commented, βYou are a good actor, but I donβt see the Robin vibe in you.β The age factor is what caused the fans to say this. But the actress was understanding and replied, βThatβs fine.β
Nico Robin Might Not Appear In One Piece Live Action Season 2

One Piece Live Action has turned around countless heads after it went on to attain global fame. The cast and crew excelled thanks to Eiichiro Odaβs supervision. Even though the live-action changed a few elements, it kept the original essence of the anime. One Piece Live Action season one teased Captain Smoker at the very end. But Nico Robinβs debut might not just happen yet. Season 2 will explore Logue Town and the Drum Island.
Robin is supposed to debut in the Alabasta arc, so the audition might signify her debut in season three. The showrunners are already thinking about season three, and it shows they are in for the long haul. But the fans do not want Prieto to get the role. Her audition was marvelous, and it would only improve during the actual scene, but age is a big no-no for the fans.

But Emily Rudd is 30 and still ended up with Nami. While the fans have some issues, it might not be correct to entirely put Natalia Prieto out of the Nico Robin equation. The jacket and hair also matched the original design of Eiichiro Oda.
One Piece Live Action can be streamed on Netflix.
