Now that the much-anticipated Ezra Miller’s The Flash is out in the theatres, following multiple delays and setbacks, people are finally getting their long-awaited questions answered. The latest installment was riddled with legendary cameos from Micheal Keaton’s Batman to Nicolas Cage’s Superman. One of which, was the cameo appearance of Teddy Sears as the Golden Age Jay Garrick, which initially did not seem to make sense to the die-hard Arrowverse fans, thus many were waiting to see how the director incorporated everything together. But turns out, the actor did not actually reprise his role in the latest Flash movie, but instead was a part of “generic Golden Age Flash“.

Hence after a long debate regarding the cameos in the stand-alone superhero movie directed by Andy Muschietti, which serves as a set-up to kickstart Gunn’s DC universe, multiple sources have now claimed it was not who fans thought it was.

Is Teddy Sears actually in The Flash?

Well, technically yes, but not how that fans thought he would be. The Arrowverse villain, Teddy Sears did not actually reprise his role in the 2023 movie. To start from the beginning, the new movie finds Ezra Miller‘s character Bary Allen traveling back in time and using his powers to save his mother only to bring upon the curse of the multiverse. All hell broke loose after his actions inadvertently altered the future resulting in some of the biggest cameos of the year!

This also included some epic visits from the TV heroes, and that is exactly where it seems the classic misunderstanding happened. With the visual of Sears wearing the Golden Age costume for the titular character from The CW’s The Flash being such a well-known image, many can misinterpret the version of the hero seen in The Flash movie as Sears’s depiction.

Although it did not make any sense for The CW’s The Flash villain to pop up now since the character was an imposter and never portrayed the actual Flash, many were hoping to see how everything would eventually tie up. Thus, despite initial indications, sources have now clarified to TVLine that the cameo was not Sears, but instead a generic representation of the Golden Age Flash.

Grant Gustin also failed to make a cameo in The Flash

Even after suggesting and hinting that Grant Gustin would be somehow present in The Flash, no such promises were kept. Not only Gustin but fans were also robbed of great cameos in the last Ezra Miller starrer, which Andy Muschietti, the director of the movie, recently revealed to be Lynda Carter’s version of Wonder Woman, Marlon Brando’s portrayal of Jor-El from Superman movie, Burgess Meredith’s version of the Penguin and Cesar Romero’s version of the Joker from the 60s Adam West-led Batman TV show.

But now that the movie is out with both Micheal Keaton and Ben Affleck as Batman, Nicolas Cage as Superman, Sasha Calle as Supergirl, and Kiersey Clemons as Iris West, the jam-packed cast surely made up for what it lacked to deliver initially amidst the drama involving Ezra Miller.

The Flash is currently out in theatres worldwide for people to enjoy.
