While fans are having high hopes for the show, Griselda Blanco’s son, Michael, expressed his anger and disappointment against how his mother has been portrayed in the series. In a discussion with DailyMail, 45-year-old Michael Blanco claimed he didn’t like the way Sofia Vergara transformed into Griselda, using facial prosthetics.

Recently, the Hollywood A-lister made headlines for her appearance in the new Netflix show Griselda, which narrated the story of the first female criminal billionaire, Griselda Blanco.
Focusing on the life and work of the Colombian cartel leader and single mother of four, Griselda Blanco, who had an active role amid Miami’s drugs scandal in the 70s and 80s, Sofia Vergara played the titular character in the show. But unfortunately, while fans appreciated her performance, Blanco’s son Michael Corleone Blanco blasted Vergara during his interview with DailyMail.
“My mother was a beautiful woman and it’s crazy that a lot of people say ‘No, you’ve got to look more like a drug addict’… The fact that they call her ‘ugly’ that really offends me. People see the mug shots and just go from that, but when you read my book, you’ll see that my mother was called the porcelain doll in her youth.”
Infuriated by the depiction of his mother in the show, 45-year-old Michael Corleone Blanco claimed that his mother was “the crème de la crème” whom renowned personalities wanted to date.

Getting further into the discussion, Michael Corleone Blanco stated that he was disappointed with the way Sofia Vergara portrayed his mother, using prosthetics. Addressing the fact that they share the same heritage (both are Colombian), the 45-year-old stated that it was a “slap in the face” situation for him to see that Vergara would be so disrespectful towards another Colombian.
“All I have to say is that if my mother was alive, she wouldn’t have got away with it… It’s such a slap in the face knowing that we come from the same land, that we come from the same culture… Not only is it a slap in my face, it is a slap in the face of my ancestors, that she would do such a thing. No matter where you are now, or how elite, it’s in the Colombian way.”
However, while Griselda Blanco’s son Michael Corleone Blanco expressed his disappointment in Sofia Vergara for portraying his mother as an ugly woman, fans shared a wild reaction to his comments.
