First Trailer for Henry Cavill’s The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare Released
Directed by Guy Ritchie and starring Henry Cavill, The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare follows a group of rogues and mavericks formed by U.K. Prime Minister Winston Churchill during World War II, who undertake daring missions to sabotage the Nazi war effort.
It is based on Damien Lewis’s book Churchill’s Secret Warriors: The Explosive True Story of the Special Forces Desperadoes of WWII and recently declassified files of the British War Department, which includes details of a secret group formed by U.K. Prime Minister Winston Churchill.
The real-life organization played a crucial role in turning the tide of the war with their “ungentlemanly” tactics. The James Bond author Ian Fleming was also one of the founding members of the group. The film’s trailer highlights the dangers of their mission, infused with a hint of humor.
Cavill is leading the group as Gus March-Phillips alongside Eiza González, Alan Ritchson, Henry Golding, Babs Olusanmokun, Hero Fiennes Tiffin, and Alex Pettyfer. The upcoming film marks the second collaboration between Cavill and Guy Ritchie, having earlier collaborated for the 2015 action comedy film The Man from U.N.C.L.E.
