Following James Gunn’s previous casting choices for his Superhero projects over the years, it’s safe to say that Superman’s future is currently in the best hands. Although there hasn’t been any official announcement about possible casting choices for the role, it seems that it will not comprise anyone from his Guardians of the Galaxy movies.

Major Guardians of the Galaxy 3 star doesn’t have interest in playing DCU’s Superman

Although it isn’t going to be easy to pull off the perfect Superman choice after axing Henry Cavill from the role, Gunn does seem to have some great plans to craft the perfect Man of Steel for this generation. However, the director assured that his plans don’t include Chris Pratt as Clark Kent, as he jokingly stated, “It’s not Chris Pratt. If he was a few years younger, maybe”. But when, another Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 star, Will Poulter, was asked about his views regarding auditioning for the role of Superman, he brushed off the possibility by stating,

“Not until just now. No, I’m very grateful to be in this for the period that I am. Grateful for that alone.”

But unlike Poulter, another Guardians star, Pom Klementieff, who plays the role of Mantis in the MCU, did express her desire to star in the DCU under the leadership of James Gunn.

Pom Klementieff is open to the idea of joining James Gunn’s DCU

Although Pom Klementieff has previously made a small cameo in Gunn’s The Suicide Squad, with him at the helms of DC, she seems to be interested in making her shift from MCU to DCU. Even though the future in the MCU after the threequel is unclear, the actress revealed that she is already discussing her future in Gunn’s DCU. While speaking with Variety, Klementieff explained that even though nothing is confirmed, she does have her eyes set on one particular character, which she isn’t allowed to reveal. She said,

“We’ve had conversations and were making plans already. But nothing is confirmed yet.”
