Guillermo del Toro’s love for cinema has always fascinated fans. The Shape of Water director recently revealed that he has been involved in giving his touch to a few movies with huge fanbases, and fans are over the moon.

Guillermo del Toro’s Personal Touch On Blade II
In a recent post on X (formerly Twitter), Guillermo del Toro revealed four movies— Crimson Peak, Cronos, Mimic, and Blade II are in the process of 4K transfer and will be out possibly next year.
“4 new 4K transfers coming up: CRIMSON PEAK, then CRONOS, BLADE II and finally MIMIC all in the next year or so. I am done with the color timing of 3 out of the 4,” del Toro wrote on X.
Directed by del Toro himself, these movies have wide and global fandom, and with his recent update, fans are on cloud nine.
del Toro directed the second installment of the Blade franchise starring Demolition Man and To Wong Foo, Thanks for Everything! Julie Newmar star Wesley Snipes. Based on Marv Wolfman and Gene Colan’s comic book, Blade, the movie was the fine extension of the franchise with more action from Snipes swinging his blades to kill the vampires.
Fans Are Excited With The Blade II Update
Del Toro’s Blade II, along with the other two movies (Blade directed by Stephen Norrington and Blade III by David S. Goyer) in the trilogy made the Marvel comics character lively on screen, the portrayal of the character in a live-action fascinated fans over the years. Now, with his recent update on the movie’s 4K transfer, fans revealed their euphoria. Fans are eagerly anticipating the enhanced visual experience following the 4K transfer, and rendering will add to Blade II.

Made with $54 million (per, The Numbers), the movie went on to gross over $155 million at the global box office. The movie also aged like fine wine as it kept inviting fans and still shines its cinematic essence among fans.
Notably, Marvel Studios is rebooting the franchise with Mahershala Ali playing the title character. The movie is scheduled for 7 November 2025 release.
