Pokémon To Introduce A New Main Character
Ash Ketchum has finally fulfilled his dream by gaining his desired title. Now that the central character of the story has reached his goal, the makers announced the introduction of the new main character. Fans were happy to witness the achievement of their hero but were also apprehensive — if the new character and storyline will have the potential to continue the years of legacy.
Now the makers have finally released the first appearance of the new protagonist, named Friede. Friede will replace Ash Ketchum. Friede is a professor and will be accompanied by Liko and Roy. Despite all these differences between the old and new stars, there is one pretty common connection between them and that is their main pokémon, Pikachu. Ash Ketchum started his journey with his first pokémon, Pikachu. And now Friede will too start his journey with the same pokémon. But the new Pikachu comes with a cap and will be referred to as Captain Pikachu.

Fans Are Disappointed After Seeing Pikachu In The New Phase Of Pokémon
The makers have introduced a new character but didn’t bother to replace the central pokémon with it. Fans believe that the makers should have replaced Pikachu with some other pokémon as there are more than 1000 options available to them. The legacy of the electric mouse is surely permanent and a replacement for it can be tough. Taito Okiura, vice president of marketing for The Pokémon Company International, justified their decision to keep Pikachu as the new main character by highlighting its importance in the series.
“For 27 years, Pikachu has been synonymous with the Pokémon franchise. We look forward to seeing this beloved Pokémon continue to have a significant presence in the animated series and remain an icon for the brand.”
It looked like the makers are trying to play safe by keeping the brand face the same with an addition of the hat. But fans are hugely disappointed with this decision and expressed their opinions on the same.
They really had over 1,000 options for the new main and still chose Pikachu💀

I don’t know that much about Pokémon so this may be stupid, but I thought they were restarting the show? Why get rid of ash and keep pikachu when there are thousands of other Pokémon?
