The latest announcements include Hades which is an action RPG, the puzzle-platformer Braid Anniversary Edition, and an action-adventure game Death’s Door. Hades is already a successful roguelike video game that was developed and published by Supergiant Games, initially released for PC, MacOS, and Nintendo Switch in 2018. The game is already reviewed highly by both critics and fans on Metacritic.

For those who never played the game, Hades is a roguelike, dungeon crawler game in which players take on the character of Zagreus, son of Hades and the Prince of Tartarus. The game is also renowned for its artwork and music, fast-paced action, and all the roguelike elements that combine to give gamers an immersive experience.

Zagreus comes off as a skilled warrior in the game, wielding six different weapons and four different variants of each. Players will also be able to unlock a bashing shield, a spear, and several other weapons as they progress through the game.

Netflix Games Based on Hit Netflix Series, New GTA Title Also Under Development

Hades 2 is scheduled for a Q2 2024 release on PC.

Netflix has been adding a lot of well-known games to its library recently, with last month’s additions including the roguelike platformer Dead Cells: Netflix Edition and a Netflix Games exclusive sequel, Slayaway Camp 2: Netflix and Kill. Most of the games in its library include games based on some of Netflix’s famous series. One of the recent additions is Money Heist based on the popular Netflix series, Money Heist. The game is based on the first season of the hit crime series.

Another new entry is Shadow and Bone: Enter the Fold, based on the fantasy series from Netflix, Shadow and Bone. Shadow and Bone is a top-down RPG that’s based on the events between seasons 1 and 2.

Chicken Run: Eggstraction is the other new entry announced during this week’s Geeked Week, based on the upcoming animated comedy Chicken Run: Dawn of the Nugget. The animated film is set to release on the 15th of December. Finally, there’s The Dragon Prince: Xadia, based on another fantasy series on Netflix, The Dragon Prince. The game is comparable to Hades through its combat and art style.

A GTA title will also be reportedly added to the Netflix Games library, but nothing much is known about the exact title that’s chosen. While a mobile version of Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition is being prepped for a release sometime next year, it’s not yet known for sure if this will be the title to be added to the Netflix Games library.

A sequel to Hades, Hades 2 is on schedule for a release during the second quarter of next year on Epic Games Store and Steam, with a console version reportedly following later. For now, there’s no news about whether or not Netflix will look to have the sequel added to its Netflix Games library at a later stage.

There’s no news yet about an Android version of Hades, so there’s a high chance the Android version might also be a Netflix exclusive. With Netflix reportedly doubling down on investment into Netflix Games, a PC version of its library shouldn’t be too far away. Games like Hades could definitely be enjoyed a lot more for a lot less, through a Netflix Games Desktop version.
