A freshly found species of snake has been given the name Harrison Ford by scientists from Germany, the US, and Peru. Ford was a well-known actor who portrayed Indiana Jones, who himself had numerous dangerous snake encounters To honor the Hollywood actor’s support for the environment, the German Society for Herpetology and Herpetoculture (DGHT) announced the designation of Tachymenoides Harrisonfordi on Tuesday. The 16-inch (40.6-centimeter) long snake that bears Ford’s name is yellowish-brown in hue with sporadic black blotches, a black belly, and a vertical stripe above its copper-colored eye.
