During the initial films, Potterheads would consider Malfoy as a mere side villain, but that was not the case, as he was more layered than Lord Voldemort himself. One fan theory recently proves why Draco Malfoy might be the most the traumatzed literary character of all. While most fan theories about Harry Potter aren’t confirmed, this theory about our favorite tragic character states his biggest fear and how it makes his story even more traumatic than it already seemed.

Potterheads’ Fan Theory About Draco Malfoy’s Biggest Fear

Most of the Potterheads often argue that who has the most tragic story among all the characters present in the film. Characters like Daniel Radcliffe’s Harry Potter, Alan Rickman’s Severus Snape, or Gary Oldman’s Sirius Black all have tragic backstories in the series. However, fans recently learned that Tom Felton’s Draco Malfoy might be the most tragic character in the entire series, due to a rather convincing theory.

In the third film, Harry Potter and The Prisoner of Azkaban, fans have watched how Professor Lupin made the students encounter Boggarts, a creature that lurks in the shadows, and how it can shapeshift into one’s biggest fear. Viewers saw the fears of characters like Harry Potter, and Neville Longbottom, none of them got to see Malfoy’s biggest fear.

This fan theory via Screen Rant, states how Draco Malfoy’s biggest fear would surely be his father Lucius Malfoy. Though one would think that he is close to his father, due to the hilarious “my father would be hearing about this” threats, that might simply be a misunderstanding. Moreover, in the later part of the film, viewers see how the young boy was pressured by his father to fulfill his plans, by joining the Death Eaters and doing the bidding of Lord Voldemort.

Viewers also saw how he was hesitant to kill Professor Dumbledore, and told him to stay back as he was a Death Eater, whilst displaying the mark while in tears. Sadly, the film did not show this scene, but had it shown his biggest fear, his story would be even more traumatizing, and would have led to further regret from fans for Lucius Malfoy.

“They could be. I mean we’ve had this chat. But essentially, you have, you know, one boy who has no parents, no money, no status, but he has everything that is good with the world. He has love, compassion and friends and truth and honesty.”

The Origin actor then described his character from the film.

“And the other side is the slightly darker one, [with] very powerful parents, lots of money, big house, all the toys, but also a bully and someone that can’t find a way of expressing his light, because he hasn’t been shown any his entire life. These are broad sweeps of the brush, but I think it’s fairly true.”

While both characters don’t have similar circumstances, they represent human emotions and how contrasting situations can showcase different human nature.
