One Piece manga has won multiple honors and is considered by critics, reviewers, and readers to be one of the best manga of all time. It had approximately 516.6 million copies in circulation in 61 countries and regions around the world by August 2022, making it the best-selling manga series in history and the largest comic series printed in book volume. In July 1997, Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump began serializing the manga, which immediately garnered popularity due to its epic storyline, lovable characters, and great fight scenes. Sales reports for One Piece volumes globally hit over 490 million in July 2021, making it the best-selling manga series and the best-selling comic series printed in book volumes in history.

One Piece Broke These Records
The manga set a Guinness World Record in 2015 and 2022 for “the most copies published for the same comic book series by a single author.” From 2008 to 2018, it was the best-selling manga for 11 years in a row, and it is the only manga with an original print of more than three million volumes for more than ten years. Since 2008, One Piece has been the only manga whose volumes have topped the weekly comic chart at Oricon.
Oda has a long way to go before One Piece is complete. The author has stated that he hopes to finish the long-running series over the next five years, and it appears that the objective is entirely attainable.
