Breaking Bad never hesitated to show everything and make it look as mature as possible. With limitless violence and mature themes, the TV show repeatedly proved that it’s not for all. Once, the action became so real, that it led Jesse Pinkman aka Aaron Paul to end up in a hospital bed. Paul’s co-star Raymond Cruz recently spoke about the whole incident in an interview.
Raymond Cruz played the role of Tuco Salamanca in the critically acclaimed series. In the second episode of Season 2, the drug lord kidnaps Jesse Pinkman and Walter White. The episode also features a scene where Cruz throws Paul through a screen door. The scene proved to be dangerous for the latter as he was seriously injured and had to be rushed to the hospital.

Raymond Cruz speaks on one of the most frightening action scenes in Breaking Bad
Earlier, Aaron Paul stated how actor Raymond Cruz couldn’t understand that he was seriously injured and kept throwing punches and kicks. Following the tradition of impressive action scenes of the series, when the second episode of Breaking Bad Season 2 was filmed, a major accident occurred.
However, we only knew Aaron Paul‘s side of the story. Recently, the Tuco Salamanca actor Raymond Cruz also opened up about his side to The Mirror. It is also to be noted that his side of the story is not completely similar to the Jesse Pinkman actor’s. Cruz stated:
“It’s kind of accurate but not quite because Aaron suffered a concussion at the beginning of the scene and you can see it on film. He gets thrown through a screen door and he catches the screen door on his arm because instead of crossing his arms when he hit the door, he had them open and caught the screen door and lifted it off its hinges.”
Raymond Cruz further described the scene as a “crazy take” and also revealed that they have used the actual scene in the series. Aaron Paul crashed on the screen door so hard that it was completely pulled off the hinges.
“I’m actually the one who stopped it. You can see in the scene, he stood up and I thought he was really there but once we got through the wall, I stopped it and I said, ‘Um, he’s not there’.The guy suffered a blow to the head and it was from the screen door. And you can see it because it’s the actual scene that they used in the film. It’s a crazy take because it’s so violent, the door ripped off its hinges. He actually ripped the door off with his body weight when he got caught on it so it’s a fantastic looking take.”
Aaron Paul shared that he blacked out after the incident and had to be rushed to the hospital soon. He revealed that for some time, he had a feeling of being drunk.

Raymond Cruz also shared some hilarious anecdotes from his journey in Breaking Bad. He stated that once the creator Vince Gilligan became very excited watching the performances. Surprisingly, Bryan Cranston and Aaron Paul claimed that they weren’t acting but were really frightened of Cruz.
“I had Bryan and Aaron held hostage in this house in the middle of the desert and Vince runs up and goes ‘Oh my God it’s fantastic, you guys look so frightened, this is great acting’ and then Bryan said ‘We’re not acting’. He was really terrified every time I approached him. Every time I got near, everyone would start shaking.”
It can’t be denied that the performances are one of the key points of Breaking Bad. The show features some of the best performances. It is one of the primary reasons why it is still regarded as the greatest television series yet.
