Sylvester Stallone may be a man of the people, being one of the biggest actors in Hollywood and known primarily for his role as Rocky; but when it comes to his love life, things are much different. The actor worked dedicatedly throughout his career and made sure that only the best of him was shown to the audience. Even though not all of his movies made it to the top, he himself did.
When it comes to his love life, things are greatly different. He found love many times and was smitten by quite a lot of women. However, things were much different when he first met Brigitte Neilsen. Not only were they the talk of the town, but the way things ended for them also became something neither could escape. It was as if their shadows were of each other.
Sylvester Stallone Was Begging Brigitte Neilsen To Marry Him
Brigitte Neilsen and Sylvester Stallone’s love may not have lasted for so long, but it certainly was enough for the media. The two met after the actress paid a bellboy to give him a photo of her with her phone number on it. What was more surprising was that her tactics worked. Not only was the actor keen on meeting her, but he called her right after he got the photo. However, Neilsen regretted everything. She wished she could erase her marriage with the actor because of the turmoil both of them went through.
“The biggest misconception while I was with Sylvester was the fact that everybody thought I married him because of money. They didn’t understand that he begged me to marry. He begged me!”
After the two got divorced, things went downhill for the actress. She got labeled a gold-digger. She was shunned because people believed that the actress was only using Stallone. There were even rumors about her cheating. It wasn’t until the actress gave her side of the story that things started to change.
Brigitte Neilsen Hated Being Married To Sylvester Stallone
Brigitte Neilsen had enough and she admitted that neither of them was happy being married to each other. Their marriage barely lasted two years and it was for the better that they parted ways. The actress admitted that she felt marriage would be too fast of a step for them but Sylvester Stallone had been begging her to tie the knot. She kept feeling this pressure from the media about how marrying an actor as great as him would be an opportunity of a lifetime.
“I remember thinking, ‘This is too early. This is not right,'” she recalled. “At the same time, everybody was going, ‘Who wouldn’t want to marry Rocky?'”
It was no denying that they had been greatly in love. However, they were not fit for each other maritally. Stallone is now happily married to Jennifer Flavin and Neilsen is just as giddy with her life alongside Mattia Dessi.
