But, what exactly led the duo to get separated? Rogers seemingly answered the same during her appearance on Playboy in 1993. She reportedly made an interesting revelation about her ex-husband, sharing,
“Well, here’s the real story. Tom was seriously thinking of becoming a monk. At least for that period of time, it looked as though marriage wouldn’t fit into his overall spiritual need.”
She continued,
“And he thought he had to be celibate to maintain the purity of his instrument. Therefore, it became obvious that we had to split.”
Her statement came long after their divorce was finalized in 1990. However, things went bizarre when the actress retracted her words in another interview.
