Tom Hardy, who became an A-lister in Hollywood after working with Christopher Nolan in films like Inception (2010), The Dark Knight Rises (2012), and Dunkirk (2017), became an on-set favorite during his 2021 film – Venom: Let There Be Carnage.

Hardy, according to The Hollywood Reporter, expressed some astonishing ways of acting that his collaborators didn’t see before. After 2018’s Venom smashed at the box office with $856 million in global sales, the co-producer of Hugh Jackman’s Logan (2017) – Hutch Parker decided to join in on the action in the sequel.

Hardy, 45, as a matter of fact, didn’t use a voice artist for the maniacal voice behind the symbiote. His way of swiftly switching between his actual character Eddie Brock and Venom impressed Parker to the point that he blatantly called Hardy the most agile performer, maybe even more than Jackman.

Though a late entrant in Sony’s Spider-Man villain universe, Tom Hardy quickly became a fan favorite in the role of Eddie Brock. THR noted that Hardy devised new ways of juggling between the two characters. After separately recording his lines as Venom, Hardy surprised everyone on set by wearing a headset.

“He has an agility that I’ve just never seen. The first time I saw him do it, I remember turning to Kelly. ‘I can’t believe what I’ve witnessed. I’ve never seen anything even remotely like this.’ It breathes energy and dynamism into the filmmaking that you don’t generally get on really big films.”

While Hardy may have added another fan to his already long list, it does not denote that Parker, in any way, dislikes Hugh Jackman or has a lesser opinion of him.

“He can do Eddie talking to Venom live. He can switch voice to voice and character to character that fast; as if we are having a conversation. It is quite mind-blowing.”
