Michael B. Jordan Got Knocked Out While Training For Creed
Following the sixth installment of Rocky, Sylvester Stallone felt there was nothing more to say about the character. But director Ryan Coogler lured him back for spinoff Creed in 2015. Featuring Michael B. Jordan as Adonis Creed, son of Rocky’s former rival turned friend Apollo, the movie focused on Adonis’ training under Rocky, to build a legacy of his own.
While filming, Michael B. Jordan dedicated himself to the role and went through grueling training to get himself ready for Creed. And during that process, the actor took on some real punches. But nothing attracted more attention than the training footage shared by Sylvester Stallone when he appeared on The Jonathan Ross Show.
Sharing video footage of Michael B. Jordan training for his role of Adonis Creed, Sylvester Stallone mentioned how the actor got knocked out cold with just one punch. Finding it hilarious, Stallone shared the video with the audience and Jordan later mentioned how he was set up by the 77-year-old.
Sylvester Stallone Laughed Hard And Shared The Video
Sylvester Stallone was sharing how professional boxers can knock down people with one blow, the actor asked the host to clarify with Michael B. Jordan. Upon being asked if he was knocked out, Jordan gave a twisted reply, “not knocked out, but I was definitely smelling the ground for a lot longer”. Jonathan Ross asked Stallone if he saw it, and Jordan replied, “he instigated it”.
“He was dreaming, he was counting the sheep. But he popped right up, and said, ‘when do we start?’. I go ‘you were Knocked Out’. And he said, ‘no, no let’s do it again’…it was just practice. Are we rolling? No.” Sylvester Stallone shared.
Then Jonathan Ross shared the video footage shot by Sylvester Stallone during the training which showed Michael B. Jordan taking one blow and falling to the ground. Unable to control his laughter, Stallone mentioned it’s more funny in slow-motion. So the host then showed the video in slow-motion and asked the 77-year-old, “You’re still laughing at this” and Jordan called Stallone a “big kid”
Sylvester Stallone lost his mind after watching the video twice and Michael B. Jordan’s reaction to the punch in slow-motion. The 77-year-old began laughing like a fanatic by banging the table and went red. But shifting the fun time to a major discussion, the host went ahead with other questions.
