According to a recent report, the Hollywood Vampire’s upcoming performances in the United States will be rescheduled. The guitarist suffered an ankle injury, which caused the band to fall behind schedule.

The band has decided to postpone the American leg of their tour due to the 59-year-old actor-musician’s injured ankle. He recently went to Cannes to promote his movie, Jeanne Du Barry, where he is said to have suffered an ankle injury earlier this month.

The Bad News For Johnny Depp’s Band

Johnny Depp‘s artistic career is still moving forward at full speed, thanks to the actor’s return to acting in movies as well as his touring with his supergroup, Hollywood Vampires. Unfortunately, it appears that the latter endeavor has taken a slight turn because of a recent ankle fracture that Depp sustained. And this certainly is bad news for the band. The statement reads:

“Johnny has sustained a painful injury to his ankle following his recent appearances and has been advised by his doctor not to travel. He is devastated by this turn of events, but looks forward to resting up so all four Vampires can bring their absolute best to the tour in Europe.”

The band has postponed shows that were originally scheduled for this week until July, according to the statement that is included below:

The band, which also features Joe Perry of ‘Aerosmith’ and Tommy Henriksen of ‘Alice Cooper’, had to postpone a portion of their US tour dates after announcing the injury on Instagram.

Last fall, Johnny Depp’s band announced their current tour, with earlier dates taking the guys across Europe. It was planned that the following leg would be a return to the United States, which would have been a fantastic way to kick off the summer tour.

Alas, the Hollywood Vampires will have to wait a while before they can perform as a unit on stage for their American fans.

Why This Tour Was Important For Johnny Depp?

This tour has been Johnny Depp’s shining moment since his trial (against ex-wife, Amber Heard), along with promoting films like Jeanne du Barry. Additionally, Depp re-signed a $20 million contract with Dior, reinstating him as the face of their perfume, Dior Sauvage.

Though it may not be a major setback, the actor’s personal injury is a roadblock that he doesn’t particularly enjoy. It all adds up to what some might call a comeback story. Depp shared this apology to his fans on his personal social media account, using his Instagram Stories:

“My Dear Friends, I am sorry to say that I have fractured my ankle, which is a drag!!! It began as a hairline break but somewhere between Cannes and the Royal Albert Hall, it got worse rather than better. Several medical professionals have strongly suggested I avoid any and all activity for the moment and so am sadly unable to travel at this time…”

Despite his injuries, it’s clear that the former Pirates of the Caribbean actor is eager to start acting again, regardless of what the doctor may have prescribed. Once Johnny Depp receives the all-clear flag, he will undoubtedly perform on stage as planned with the fans waiting to welcome him back.

While the Alice in Wonderland actor is healing from this wound, his devoted fans can expect seeing him back on the big screen at some point in the upcoming year.

Jeanne du Barry, which is currently playing in theaters all over France has received positive reviews from critics. Though, it is yet to have a scheduled U.S. premiere date.
