“He is so sexy”: Zac Efron Is To Blame For Swedish Hunk Alexander Skarsgård’s Pantless Appearance At the MTV Movie Awards in 2016

Swedish actor Alexander Skarsgård has captivated audiences with many remarkable performances. He is well-known for his remarkable acting abilities, however, that’s not the only thing he’s remembered for. At the 2016 MTV Movie Awards, the actor showed up at the event in a dashing dinner jacket over a white T-shirt and a neat bow tie paired with sharp boots, however, there was something missing: his pants. The person to be blamed for this is actor Zac Efron.

At the 2014 MTV Movie Awards, Zac Efron took off his t-shirt after winning an award, so Skarsgård decided to do something similar but not exactly what Efron did. As a result, fans got to see Skarsgård present an award in his underwear.

Zac Efron is the reason why Alexander Skarsgård attended the 2016 MTV Movie Awards without pants

In 2022, actor Alexander Skarsgård appeared for a Q&A session with IMDb to answer some fan questions. During the interview, the actor talked about the time he showed up at the 2016 MTV Movie Awards without his pants because he was influenced by actor Zac Efron,

“The year before, Zac Efron had taken his shirt off on stage and he is so sexy. I decided to also show a little bit of skin. I couldn’t take my shirt off because Zac had already done that, so I thought, well, then I’ll take my pants off because it’s equally sexy.”

The actor presented the Movie of the Year award alongside fellow actor Samuel L. Jackson on stage without his pants, making it one of the most memorable moments in the history of the award show.

Zac Efron promised to go shirtless if he beat Thor: The Dark World

In March 2014, Efron told his fans that he would go shirtless if he beat Chris Hemsworth’s Thor: The Dark World at the MTV Movie Awards. The actor tweeted,

“If I beat Thor- I’m accepting the award shirtless on stage. #movieawards”

Well, he is a man of his word as he gave fans what he promised on month later at the 2014 MTV Movie Awards. Alexander Skarsgård isn’t any less as he has also showcased his muscular side in The Legend of Tarzan (2016). The actor put himself through eight months of intense training and dieting in order to achieve that ripped physique.
