Christian Bale Thought Caped Crusader was Not as Interesting as the Villain

Following Heath Ledger’s performance in The Dark Knight, The Joker as a whole became a far more intriguing and sought-after character. Christian Bale admitted that while he was not much concerned about Heath Ledger stealing the show, he finds the other Batman movies somewhat problematic in the context that he’d never found the Caped Crusader to be as interesting as the villains.

“I asked myself, ‘Well how come it’s always been that he’s the most boring character?’ I’ve never found him to be intriguing at all. Whereas these graphic novels depicted him as by far the most fascinating of them.”

Bale has been in numerous films, making his acting the ideal addition to some of the most captivating storylines ever.

Christian Bale Was Amazed Watching Heath Ledger Become the Joker

The Dark Knight‘s popularity can be attributed in large part to Heath Ledger’s portrayal of the Joker as the ideal antagonist for Christian Bale‘s portrayal of Batman. Bale reminisced about working with Ledger on The Dark Knight during an interview with GQ. He said:

Heath Ledger, oh my God, what a performance. What a pleasure to have gotten to work with him, and just to see him and how much he put himself into the Joker. And I was watching him going, ‘Yeah, this is absolutely fantastic.”
