Elvis Presley was one of the biggest musicians and actors in the ‘50s and ‘60s. Known as the King of Rock and Roll, the musician was known for his often imitated style and s*xually provocative songs that were revolutionary at the time. He was one of the biggest pop-cultural phenomena in Hollywood and is revered even today. He was portrayed by Austin Butler and Jacob Elordi in two different films in the last two years.
Though he is rumored to have multiple affairs, Presley only married once in his life. The star musician met Priscilla Presley when he was stationed in West Germany during his military service. Presley has been known to have many courtships even after his marriage. His bodyguard during his tours mentioned that he preferred the women he dated not to have one specific quality that would turn him off.
Elvis Presley Preferred Women With One Physical Trait
Elvis Presley was known for being a s*x symbol during the height of his career. His charged performances during concerts and live shows had garnered him millions of female fans and had also irked many parents and religious groups. The musician was also known to have had affairs and courtships with many of his co-stars during his acting career.
Though there have been varying accounts of what he liked in the women he dated, Elvis Presley’s bodyguard Sonny West stated that he and the singer’s entourage used to look for one specific physical trait in the women they would set him up with. According to West’s statement in the book Elvis: What Happened?, Presley liked women with small feet.
West reportedly mentioned in the book that the singer liked women who were more feminine and that he considered large feet to be not so. The bodyguard claimed,
“He likes them about five foot four, five foot five, and there is one thing that really turns him off, and that is chicks with big feet…He would tell us that he could be in bed with a chick and he would roll over and see those big, wide soles and oh, man, he just couldn’t get out of that bed fast enough. He really likes them feminine.”
Elvis Presley also reportedly liked petite women who were natural brunettes. His only wife Priscilla Presley reportedly fit the description perfectly. The singer has also been rumored to have dated his co-star Ann Margaret and Taxi Driver star Cybill Shepherd.
Elvis Presley Also Did Not Like Women Who Had Given Birth
Apart from liking women with small feet, Elvis Presley also reportedly had many other preferences for his potential mates. The King was reportedly averse to women who had given birth and did not continue relationships with women once he found out they had given birth. His ex-wife Priscilla Presley also mentioned how she was scared about her relationship with him after she got pregnant with Lisa Marie Presley.
In her memoir Elvis and Me, which was also the basis for Sofia Coppola’s Priscilla, she wrote,
“Now I was a mother and he was uncertain how to treat me. He had mentioned before we were married that he had never been able to make love to a woman who’d had a child.”
The King also reportedly began treating her differently after her pregnancy. The couple reportedly got pregnant soon after their marriage in 1968, which Priscilla Presley was not happy about. She also asked Elvis Presley whether she should take birth control pills which he was reportedly against as he claimed that they had not been perfected.
Priscilla Presley also wrote in her book that the King had once asked her for a trial separation when she was seven months pregnant. Though they never went through it, they soon filed for divorce, which was finalized in 1973. Elvis was rumored to have had multiple affairs during his marriage, including his co-star Nancy Sinatra (via Elvis: What Happened?).
