Talking about the movie, MCU actor Michael Douglas, who portrays the role of Dr. Hank Pymm, was also attached to the 1992 project. As per the reports, the MCU actor had a love-making scene with Tripplehorn which left the actress feeling really embarrassed. Going into the details, Tripplehorn revealed that it was her first day on set and Douglas had to rip her blouse and throw her over.

“I was embarrassed. My first days on the set I was rehearsing a scene with Michael where he rips off my blouse and throws me over a chair. I prefer a look or a smile, which can be just as sexy as ripping off someone’s clothing.”

After suffering through such scenes, Tom Cruise swooped in to save Sharon Stone’s co-star by giving her a different role in the 1993 movie titled The Firm.

The same wasn’t true for Jeanne Tripplehorn since she started getting similar offers of skimpy characters who were up to no good. It was actually Tom Cruise who offered his hand to the actress in need by starring alongside her in the 1993 film The Firm. The 1993 movie went on to earn big at the box office worldwide and Jeanne Tripplehorn found herself in a different character after a long time.

”I really went after it. I wanted a change from the Basic Instinct character, so I kept my eyes open. I read the script. Then, whenever I saw him, I’d casually ask Sydney, ‘So, uh, what’s happening with The Firm?’ I guess he listened.”

The Firm received a rating of 6.8/10 on IMDB and 76% on Rotten Tomatoes. The 1992 movie, Basic Instinct is available to stream on Paramount+.
