Ben Affleck and Matt Damon have been the best of friends even before their acting careers took off. They have supported each other’s careers and have always managed to help each other when in need. Now with both of them buckling in to introduce the world to Air, their dynamics are better than ever. The movie is currently sitting at 98% on Rotten Tomatoes and is looking forward to a hearty release.
With the number of movies that the two have done and the fame that they hold both individually and together, a question comes into consideration. Why haven’t the two worked together often? Both Damon and Affleck had separate replies in the end and while the Gone Girl actor admitted to not being able to afford The Bourne Ultimatum actor, he was still a bit salty about it.

Matt Damon Wanted To Be A Part Of Many Ben Affleck Movies
Ben Affleck and Matt Damon‘s friendship has been a near and dear one. The two have their own production company and their talents combined as well as separately can account for Hollywood’s finest. Damon had expressed that he has often wanted to work in various Affleck movies, from The Town to Argo, he wanted the roles and thought he could have done great in them.
“He didn’t ask me to do Argo, which I could’ve crushed the lead in that movie, but he took it for himself.”
He thought he would have done a great job as Tony Mendez in the movie but, it was truly unfortunate for him that Affleck took that role for himself. When the actor was asked about not giving the role to Damon, he simply stated that he would have loved to do so but that would have led him to earn lesser money.

Matt Damon Wanted Jeremy Renner’s Role In The Town
Matt Damon added that he wanted Jeremy Renner’s role as Jem in The Town. The role ultimately got Renner an Oscar nomination for Best Supporting Actor and he would have loved to be a part of the movie. However, he claimed that Ben Affleck did not even ask him to be in the film.
“Well, he didn’t ask me to be in The Town.”
Ben Affleck confirmed that the movie’s budget had barely been enough, and if he were to hire Damon, then he would have been met with the option of either making the movie or hiring Damon and doing nothing else. Damon’s fee at that time was extremely high and the budget of the movie could nowhere near compensate for that.
Air will be available to watch in theatres from 5th April 2023.
