Damon had expressed that he has often wanted to work in various Affleck movies, from The Town to Argo, he wanted the roles and thought he could have done great in them.

“He didn’t ask me to do Argo, which I could’ve crushed the lead in that movie, but he took it for himself.”

He thought he would have done a great job as Tony Mendez in the movie but, it was truly unfortunate for him that Affleck took that role for himself. When the actor was asked about not giving the role to Damon, he simply stated that he would have loved to do so but that would have led him to earn lesser money.

Matt Damon Wanted Jeremy Renner’s Role In The Town

Matt Damon added that he wanted Jeremy Renner’s role as Jem in The Town. The role ultimately got Renner an Oscar nomination for Best Supporting Actor and he would have loved to be a part of the movie. However, he claimed that Ben Affleck did not even ask him to be in the film.

“Well, he didn’t ask me to be in The Town.”

Ben Affleck confirmed that the movie’s budget had barely been enough, and if he were to hire Damon, then he would have been met with the option of either making the movie or hiring Damon and doing nothing else. Damon’s fee at that time was extremely high and the budget of the movie could nowhere near compensate for that.

Air will be available to watch in theatres from 5th April 2023.
