We love the Avengers not only because they have some amazing powers, and are extremely cool but also because they are human, they care for each other beyond their suits and have actual connections with each other. The Avengers group dynamics is extremely fun to witness, they are constantly cracking jokes and everyone has a sense of humor. The sense of togetherness makes our heart smile, fortunately enough the actors share a similar dynamic off-screen. Like in one of his interviews, Jeremy Renner talked about how working with Robert Downey Jr was great.

In Hawkeye, Renner’s character took Hailee Steinfeld under his wing, it was a special moment and led to a unique relationship, the interviewer asked if Hawkeye had someone of that sort. The actor very fondly mentioned Robert Downey Jr., he explained how Iron Man‘s success helped Marvel and RJD was someone everyone could lean on.

“I think even just in the MCU, with Downey, he kind of kicked off the MCU in the way that he did with Iron Man. He kind of took us all under his wing, if you will, to kind of shepherd us in a certain way, We all knew each other and we’re all friends, just in a different sort of way you can lean on someone for information, or a hug, maybe whatever..” (he laughed as he completed his sentence.)

This moment tugged at our heartstrings, to see the on-screen and off-screen dynamic between the two.

The co-creator and co-star of Mayor of Kingstown, Hugh Dillon claims that season 2 of the show is: “I would say this: It’s the most dangerous show on television“. The show has returned for a second season and will stream weekly.

The first season mostly focused on setting this world of inmates, runaway prisoners, etc, the chaos was just beginning to get messy, in season 2 things will get crazier, and the character will be pushed into more dark and dangerous places.

Hugh Dillon explains,

“The first season you’ve gotta get it up and running. But (in) the second season you can really steer into what makes these folks tick and how they navigate the world. And how they navigate their own desensitization and ethical drifts. Why are we predisposed to our darker impulses?”

It gets us excited for the next season, as we wish a speedy recovery to the star Jeremy Renner.

Mayor of Kingstown will stream weekly on Paramount+.
