Black Panther: Wakanda Forever’s main focus was to honor what Chadwick Boseman had very carefully built with care and love for his character and the people around him. When the movie decided not to recast T’Challa and instead focus on the characters that revolved around him, many fans went into an uproar of conflicts, all falling silent after the world premiere of the movie which was collectively called to be moving and received only positive reviews. The premiere itself saw actors both old and new coming to watch the movie to honor the late actor. However, it is not just the world that addresses his death with love and compassion.

A New Still From Black Panther: Wakanda Forever Will Touch Many Hearts

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever has canonically seen the passing of King T’Challa as Marvel has gone against any petitions to recast the character in honor of Chadwick Boseman and how personal this role was to him. The actor first debuted as the Black Panther in 2018 with Captain America: Civil War and from that moment onwards, he became an integral part of the franchise. Since then, director Ryan Coogler has given one of the MCU’s highest-rated movies, Black Panther, whose sequel will now be seen in theatres.

A new clip from the movie that was released on Jimmy Kimmel Live showed Lupita Nyong’o, the actress who plays Nakia, and Danai Gurira who plays Okoye talking about the death of their late King and how it affects them. While their nation mourns T’Challa, a new threat emerges in the form of Tenoch Huerta’s Namor, bringing further unrest to Wakanda and its people.

How Would Black Panther: Wakanda Forever Deal With T’Challa Being Gone?

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever would have a time leap of around a year after T’Challa’s passing, as seen in the teasers for the sequel, which also saw a funeral for the character. Nakia appeared to have departed Wakanda during this period for an unknown cause, as she was not present for the funeral, as discussed in the most recent clip.

The preview in the clip also showed how the characters, especially Nakia, were still adjusting to T’Challa’s passing. Her relationship with T’Challa was much closer than the rest, being intimate and vulnerable at the same time. In her eyes, the former King was much more than a hero who ruled a nation. Although, she is not alone in adjusting to T’Challa being gone. Both his sister Shuri and his mother Ramonda as well as Okoye were shown mourning his death along with the entirety of Wakanda.
