McConaughey has been married to his wife, Camilla Alves for more than ten years now, with the two having wed in 2012. Being a model and designer, Alves is truly one of the most beautiful women in the industry. This seemed to have been a weakness when it came to A-List actress Anne Hathaway’s son, who actually confused the model for a Disney princess due to her looks.
Anne Hathaway’s Son Thought He Was In Disney’s Moana
While making an appearance in the Late Night With Seth Meyers show, Anne Hathaway talked about her, then-upcoming film, Serenity, where she starred alongside fellow Oscar-winning actor, Matthew McConaughey. With the majority of this film taking place on a boat in the middle of nowhere, where the film was shot was quite important and required actors to stay on location for quite a long time. The location in question was Mauritius, an Indian Ocean Island nation, known for its beaches and lagoons. Due to the duration of filming, both Hathaway and McConaughey brought their family along with them to the country.
“My son thought, you know, we took his to Mauritius, which is Paradise. It’s so beautiful. And so I think he thought that we were in Motunui,”
What was quite unexpected was how Hathaway’s son reacted to this place. During this interview, the actress revealed that her son was a very big fan of the Disney film, Moana. Mauritius can easily be described as looking like a paradise, with it looking simply beautiful and peaceful, so much so, that the actress’s son confused Mauritius for Motunui, a fictional, similarly described island from the cartoon film. This wasn’t though as this got even more interesting when McConaughey’s wife got involved.

Anne Hathaway then went on to reveal on the Late Night With Seth Meyers, that this was not the end of her son’s creative imagination. Speaking on this, the actress talked about how beautiful Matthew McConaughey’s wife, Camilla Alves is, and how, she resembles the Disney princess Moana quite a lot. This fact was not overlooked by the actress’s son, who was in complete awe of the model’s resemblance to the Disney princess.
“And then I don’t know if you’ve ever seen a picture of Matthew McCanaughey’s wife, but she is the most drop-dead gorgeous Brazillian woman and she kind of looks like Moana. So my son was like, ‘What is happening? What is this crystal ocean? And her?’ and so Camila would come around and my son would just like get this look on his face and I realized he was completely in love with her.”
Hathaway then went on to reveal that her son had a crush on Moana at the time so seeing a real-life version of the character, naturally, made him very surprised and awestruck. By the end of filming, the actress realized that her son was completely in love with Alves with the way he would react whenever he saw the model.
