His constant legal troubles have led to his past being brought up, which included a two-year relationship with pop star Jennifer Lopez. The two artists reportedly met during the music video of ‘If You Had My Love’ and then began dating. The two also made headlines when they were arrested at a club in 1999 (via NYT).

While the couple eventually broke up, Lopez revealed in an interview that she was surprised by how close Diddy had gotten after only a short courtship. She said (via The Source),

Immediately, he let me know that he liked me, right away. He was like, ‘I love you.’ I was like, ‘What? OK.’ It was just very fast. But we did have a connection. We were both very ambitious and both kind of had the same ideas about our careers. We loved working, and we wanted to do great things.
