Pamela Anderson and Tommy Lee are one of the on-again and off-again couples in the Hollywood industry. The pair famously married on a beach in Cancun in February 1995, just four days after they began seeing each other.
They welcomed their son Brandon Thomas Lee in May 1996 and Dylan Jagger Lee in December 1997. But a few months later, Anderson filed for divorce.
After their divorce in 1998, the actress and the rocker reunited multiple times but eventually parted ways in 2008. According to Anderson, Lee started getting jealous because she used to give more attention to her sons, which was one of the reasons he sometimes physically assaulted her.
Tommy Lee Physically Assaulted Pamela Anderson Because She Gave More Attention to Their Sons
Media and fans took too much interest in Anderson’s life when Hulu released the series Pam & Tommy, which depicted the early days and her volatile relationship with her first husband, Mötley Crüe drummer Tommy Lee.
The following month, the star announced a Netflix documentary — Pamela, A Love Story (premiered on Jan. 31, 2023) — about her life where she promised to “tell the real story.”
As per Pamela Anderson, Lee was jealous and sometimes violent, whose erratic behavior was the reason for their divorce in 1998. In her memoir, Love, Pamela, Anderson recalls an instance where Lee physically assaulted her.
Anderson said that Lee got jealous because she was giving more attention to their sons than him. He attacked her while she was holding their baby, Dylan, and their toddler, Brandon, clung to her leg. She wrote (via ET Online).
“Tommy ripped Brandon off me and threw me and Dylan into the wall.”
The star wrote:
“I was so scared he was hurt — he was screaming and he was only seven weeks old.”
Even though the divorce was really tough for her, she admitted it was necessary to keep her kids safe from Lee.
Pamela Anderson and Tommy Lee are in Good Terms Now
During this argument, when he allegedly kicked Anderson in the back and bottom three times while she was holding their infant son, Dylan—Lee got a six-month jail sentence for abusing Anderson. The judge issued a warning when giving him the sentence, which says (via Los Angeles Times):
“What I see here is a very clear–very disturbing, in my judgment–pattern of conduct in which otherwise resolvable matters are handled by violence.”
In a Fox interview, Lee said he didn’t beat Anderson but admitted grabbing and shaking her. However, both Anderson and Lee are on good terms. As Anderson said to People, they’re “getting better at co-parenting” their kids. After her divorce from Lee, the actress married five more times.
