Kate Winslet Reflects on Meeting Leonardo DiCaprio For the First Time

As a re-mastered 4K Ultra HD version of Titanic hit the screen earlier this week, Kate Winslet shared her experience working with Leonardo DiCaprio. In a conversation with Entertainment Tonight, the 48-year-old actress shared that she and her co-star “clicked immediately” after meeting on the set of the 1997 film. She said,

“He was this kind of a mess of long, skinny, uncoordinated limbs, and he was just very free with himself, and he had this effervescent energy that was really magnetic.”

The Oscar-winning actress also shared that she had a feeling that she and the Revolutionary Road actor would get along pretty well and would have fun making the film. “And we just really did. We just really did,” she recalled.

After Titanic, the duo once again collaborated for the 2008 romantic thriller Revolutionary Road. However, despite portraying each other’s love interest on-screen, both have claimed that they are nothing more than friends. DiCaprio has also referred to Winslet as one of his “dearest friends” in an interview.
