As a result, during the long run of the manga, Oda-Sensei has featured our beloved hero in numerous forms that have helped him defeat a ton of strong foes that seemed impossible for him to defeat in his normal form. However, these unnatural powers have changed his physical appearance and attitude.

One such form was the Nightmare Luffy transformation, which was introduced in the Thriller Bark Arc. Though this form was not a part of his Devil Fruit, Gomu Gomu no Mi, it still stands as one of the strongest forms of our hero. Consequently, fans are curious how strong this form would be if the current Luffy used it along with his current powers and Haki.

Nightmare Luffy Would Be Unstoppable With his Current Skills and Haki

While Eiichiro Oda’s One Piece is notorious for being too long and having a gripping narrative, it has taken the manga and anime industry by storm. Interestingly, even after 27 years, the series has not lost its popularity and has been going stronger than ever, with several factors that ensure it’ll leave a lasting impact on the viewers.

One such factor was presenting a beloved protagonist, Monkey D. Luffy, who is probably one of the strongest characters in all of anime. With the aim of conquering the Grand Line and becoming the next Pirate King, he fought several foes who stood in his way. As a result, he has gained access to transform his body, which enabled him to combat a variety of opponents.

Though he uses his Gear forms regularly in the fight, there’s one form that is clearly more powerful than the others, especially if he uses it with his current combat skills and Haki. This is none other than the Nightmare Luffy form, which showcased the true power of the undead.

Introduced only during the Thriller Bark Saga, after the Captain of the Straw Hat Pirates loses his shadow to Gecko Moria, he is fed a questionable amount of shadows from the victims present on the island. Hence, it resulted in his unique appearance, which made him look like an undead.

The form was so powerful that it not only overpowered Oars but also Gecko Moria, one of the Seven Warlords of the Sea. Despite this form not being a part of Luffy’s Devil Fruit, it made the arc all the more exciting.

Since Luffy has come a long way from the Thriller Bark Arc and has become comparatively stronger, fans are now curious about what would have happened if the current Luffy had used this forbidden form with his combat skills and Haki.

Consequently, fans were out of words during the entire fight because this transformation not only changed physically but also mentally. This made the fans come up with some interesting opinions in a video that featured the debut of the iconic form against Oars.

@mohamedsuisi7665 commented, “Imagine nightmare Luffy with haki and luffy’s current skills”

@WayneNjuguna120 commented, “It’s still crazy to think that Nightmare Luffy was an actual form cause he wasn’t even Luffy anymore. If thats how power he was then, Imagine how strong he would be currently if he somehow managed to get his hands on maybe 10,000 shadows.”

@naru_was_here commented, “Imagine Nightmare Luffy Uses Gear 5”

@Sequence_Cyan commented, “Nightmare luffy is so underrated! The way he manhandled oars and the sword mastery, he might have been able to beat zombie ryuma. He would be a worthy opponent for gear four bounceman luffy.”

@jordychiu6365 commented, “bro he is nightmare hes like a buff man monkey d luffy”

Nevertheless, it would be quite intriguing to see the return of this form. However, Oda-Sensei would not let nostalgia ruin his story, as that form was a one-time thing that added to the allure of the Shonen series.
