According to Brosnan, The Batman fame star Colin Farrell was the best choice to depict the role of a British Secret Service agent. In an interview, he praised the actor and believed he was the best bet for the filmmakers to portray his former role after his last appearance as 007 in the 2002 spy film Die Another Day. However, Farrell himself had admitted once that he was not interested in it and passed on the opportunity, which eventually went to Daniel Craig.

After his last appearance as James Bond in Die Another Day film, The Ghost Writer movie star was asked in an interview who would be the ideal successor, and the actor claimed that he thinks several talented stars in the industry could play 007, but Colin Farrell would beat them all, saying,

“I’ll give it to Colin Farrell. He’ll eat the head off them all.”

Pierce Brosnan has starred in four commercially and critically acclaimed James Bond movies, starting with the 1995 spy film GoldenEye, and reprised his role in the follow-up sequels: Tomorrow Never Dies, The World Is Not Enough, and Die Another Day.

In a candid interview, Pierce Brosnan praised Daniel Craig for exceptionally portraying the role of James Bond in the spy film series. The actor initially suggested the name Colin Farrell to take on the role, but Farrell once admitted that he was not interested in playing that part, saying, 

“The idea of me playing James Bond got into the press, but it is not true. I would not like to do it. They should find someone the audience has no history with.”

After much speculation and rumors about who would be the next 007, Daniel Craig got the role of James Bond, and he made his head-turning debut in the franchise, starting with the 2006 film Casino Royale. Craig received immense praise and critical acclaim for his performance in the movie, and Brosnan also hailed his acting, saying,

“Daniel Craig has been an incredible Bond. He’s very physical. He looks lethal. You genuinely believe this is someone who could kill a man.”
