The first vine you will encounter is in Chapter 1, near the Marsh of White Mist Shrine. This vine, easily accessible and unguarded, marks the beginning of your journey to upgrading the Gourd. As you progress, the difficulty in finding these vines increases, with some hidden in remote locations or protected by powerful foes.

After defeating them, you’ll find the vine behind a wooden gate, just before reaching the Windrest Hamlet Shrine. The second vine in this chapter is near the Windseal Gate, guarded by a miniboss known as the Gore-Eye Daoist. Defeating this foe is necessary to claim the vine.

As you progress to Chapter 5, you’ll find two more Luojia Fragrant Vines. The first can be purchased from Shen Monkey, as usual, in the Marsh of White Mist. The second vine is located in the Woods of Ember, near the Height of Ember shrine.

To reach it, you must navigate past the Father of Stones boss fight and follow the cliffside path to the end, where the vine is perched on a tree. This vine is one of the final opportunities to enhance your Gourd before the game’s most challenging battles.

Unlocking the Supreme Gourd in Black Myth Wukong

Once you’ve collected nine Luojia Fragrant Vines and fully upgraded your Gourd, you’re ready to unlock the Supreme Gourd. Each vine must be given to the Shen Monkey NPC, who will enhance your Gourd’s capabilities.

With enough vines, your Gourd can eventually be upgraded to the Supreme Gourd, which offers ten healing charges and is crucial for unlocking the “Always Accompanied” trophy or achievement.

For this, you’ll need to have upgraded your Gourd to hold nine charges by the time you reach Chapter 5. After this, visit the Rakshasa Palace in Furnace Valley. Here, an Old Man NPC will provide the final steps needed to upgrade your Gourd to its supreme form.
