Dwayne Johnson Pulled Off Many Stunts With Emily Blunt

Dwayne Johnson’s amazing spinning feat while filming the 2021 movie Jungle Cruise earned him the nickname “lunatic” from Emily Blunt. When Johnson chose to perform a stunt in which he would be whirled around on a rope, Blunt claimed to have been on the set, according to an interview. She also added she was horrified and believed he would harm himself in the process.

The stunt in question involved Johnson being spun around on a rope over a waterfall. He was attached to a harness and wore a helmet for safety. The stunt was performed several times and Johnson was able to complete it without any injuries. Johnson seemed undeterred and successfully finished the trick. Later, Blunt remarked that she was struck by his madness.

Emily Blunt shared Johnson’s stunts and tricks while attending The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. She said,

“You’re too heavy, he said to me. Every time, sometimes he would like, as we were swinging, he would wrap his colossal legs around me to make us spin. He’d do sh*t like that all the time, like some lunatic.”

Dwayne Johnson performed the aforementioned stunt with the actress tied to him, for safety. Although he was secured to a harness, it was a pretty dangerous stunt and the cast members along with Emily Blunt were amazed every time he pulled off the stunt. Blunt’s reaction to the stunt was captured on camera and can be seen in the behind-the-scenes featurette for Jungle Cruise.
