Since Helldivers 2‘s release, Xbox players have been feeling left out as the game quickly became one of the most popular games in the industry. The game was released on Windows and PlayStation 5, leaving Xbox players wondering why the game wasn’t released on their platform. Sony has published/funded both Helldivers games and it is pretty obvious why they are not willing to share the game with Microsoft.
Three months after the release of Helldivers 2, the game has started losing its players and the best way to prevent this is by releasing the game on Xbox. Sony restricted the fanbase by not releasing the game on Xbox consoles as it would’ve significantly boosted the game’s sales. This decision could keep Helldivers 2 alive as fans are concerned that the game is slowly dying and another failed Major Order has proved that this is true.
Can an Xbox release save Helldivers 2 from dying?
The Helldivers 2 community has failed to complete another Major Order in Helldivers 2 this week and it has not surprised the fans as the goal was impossible to reach with the current active players. As per SteamDB, it’s quite clear that Helldivers 2 is rapidly losing its fanbase, and a similar trend is noticed on the PlayStation 5.
Even though Sony would never consider this, a release on the Xbox consoles could potentially save Helldivers 2 from dying. Xbox players have been waiting to experience the game since its release but Sony’s heavy involvement in Helldivers 2‘s making makes it clear that the game is never coming to Xbox consoles.
Arrowhead Game Studios has motivated the players to complete the new Major Order
An Xbox release isn’t the only way to save the game and Arrowhead has finally realised that. Many players complained that Arrowhead is ruining the game by not adding any new firearms or gear but that might change if players complete the latest Major Order. By liberating Varylia 5 in the Trigon Sector, players can get their hands on a new Exosuit with a dual-autocannon called EXO-49 Emancipator Exosuit.
Arrowhead is aware of this problem. In fact, Johan Pilestedt has stepped down from the CEO position to the Chief Creative Officer position to focus more on the game with the creative team at Arrowhead. The PSN account linking policy for PC players also heavily damaged their reputation, forcing many players to uninstall the game. Now, it seems like Arrowhead is trying its best to revive the hype.
Helldivers 2 is available on Windows and PlayStation 5.
