Helldivers 2 has taken the world by storm, releasing less than a month ago it has quickly topped the Steam charts and shows no signs of slowing down. Johan Pilestedt, CEO of Arrowhead Game Studios, has been vocal on Twitter/X commenting on the state of the game and interacting with the community, which is commendable.
Recently a fan asked Pilestedt about what he would consider very impressive in the game, and he responded enthusiastically, more or less issuing a challenge to the player base.
The Helldivers 2 Director has been vocal in the community
Johan Pilestedt has somewhat broken the mould of gaming CEOs of late, as he has been very vocal in the community and even went as far as to say that buying Helldivers 2 can wait while there are server issues. This has garnered him a lot of respect from the player base, which is something quite rare these days.
If you have no cash, get it later. While we made a really fun game it's worth waiting until the servers can support the capacity.
I mean, as a CEO I of course want the game to be as profitable as possible, but if you spent yr last $ and got stuck in server queues I'd be 💔

Helldivers 2Director Challenges The Community
In a post on Twitter/X, user, @Elbethium, asked the popular CEO if there was anything he would like to see players pull off in Helldivers 2 that he would consider genuinely impressive.
In Helldivers 2 there are many exciting and bombastic methods of dealing with your foes, from assault rifles and shotguns to massive weapons of mass destruction delivered from your orbital battleship.
The game is aimed squarely at making you feel like an absolute killing machine. Pilestedt responded enthusiastically to the fan question with somewhat of a challenge to players.
I haven't seen a video of taking down a dropship when it's flying in. Just shots of when it goes down while dropping stuff.

This is in reference to the ability to call down ordinance such as rocket launchers to use to take on the alien and robot threats. There were many responses by fans showing clips of cool things they have pulled off in the game, making for a very wholesome comments section.
Helldivers 2 has been impressive in how it has united gamers in a way few things manage to, not free from controversy, the server issues continue to be a sticking point that is thankfully being addressed.
The game’s success proves that if you make a great title and engage positively with the community then people will play it. As the Arrowhead title continues to smash records and dominate recent gaming news, it will be an exciting day when the servers are not longer failing.
What do you think of Helldivers 2 so far? Will you be taking on Pilestedts challenge? Make sure to let us know in the comments.
